Janet & Isaac's Summer Wedding

5:00 am in the morning of Isaac and Janet’s wedding day. Our team at Wedding Story arrived at the bride’s home in order to get her ready for the big day. As we pulled in to the driveway, we noticed an overwhelming amount of cars out front; despite the premature hours of the day, it seemed as though their family and friends had beat the sun and woken up to celebrate Isaac and Janet’s day bright and early.

It was a stunning summer’s day that went along perfectly with Janet’s wedding gown. As she sat in her room and got ready with the help of our make-up team, she seemed surprisingly composed and simply looked into the mirror in silence with a smile on her face.

Janet’s tranquility however, did not last long as their traditional Chinese wedding games began. Breaking the silence and serenity of the house, Isaac and his groomsmen arrived. The games were playful and lighthearted taking away from all seriousness of the day. Beginning with the groom having to pay his way into the bride's home, to proving himself past the bridal party, Isaac finally earned his way up the stairs to meet his lovely bride.

The reunion of Janet & Isaac
After many happy tears during the tea ceremony at Janet’s place, we changed location to the groom’s house where his parents and guests of the family awaited. The tea ceremony with the groom’s family was especially moving and surprising as Isaac had seemed to be overcome with emotion by his father’s words of wisdom and prayers than anyone else in the room. The tea ceremony at Isaac’s place was one of those precious, unforgettable moments that touched everyone who was there to experience it, showing the true bond between father and son.

The wedding ceremony was held at their church, in which belonged to Isaac’s father whom was the pastor; the church was of sentimental value and not just another wedding venue for the couple. This made the whole experience of the ceremony even more special than any other fancy wedding.

Janet, waiting for her cue to walk down the aisle had finally succumbed to her nerves, but somehow flawlessly floated down the aisle with her father to meet Isaac at the end.

With some time open before the ceremony, the newlyweds and their bridal party headed out for some outdoor summer shots. After much laughter and some high heel pain, we made our way down to Kirin restaurant in Richmond for the reception where guests were eager to greet the couple.

The rest of the night was a success, as the couple looked happy as ever along with the guests with a full belly of food and entertainment.
